Northern Sky Lodge is a small, family-owned bed and breakfast tucked into the boreal forest along the Parks Highway, about 30 miles south of Fairbanks, Alaska. Whether you’re chasing the northern lights, exploring Interior Alaska, or simply looking for a quiet retreat in the wilderness, we’d love to have you.

We have seven uniquely decorated guest rooms, each named for the wildlife, landscapes, and history of Alaska. Guests share a large common area complete with a fully equipped kitchen, dining space, and a comfortable sitting room with board games and books. Every stay includes a continental breakfast served each morning in the common dining area.

Our location puts you close to everything Interior Alaska has to offer — Chena Hot Springs, Denali National Park, the Arctic Circle, dog mushing, ice fishing, gold panning, and miles of trails right outside our door for hiking, snowshoeing, and wildlife viewing.

Northern Sky Lodge is one of the best places in Alaska to see the aurora borealis — and we have the recognition to back it up. USA Today ranked us third in the state in their Best Places to Watch the Northern Lights in Alaska for 2026, making us the top-ranked northern lights destination in the Fairbanks region.

We are a family-run operation and we take pride in making every guest feel at home. There is no front desk and no corporate feel here — just genuine Alaskan hospitality, a warm common area, and a whole lot of wilderness out the front door.
